A view of Wormit, at the south end of the Tay (rail) Bridge, seen from a train crossing the bridge. These substantial houses were home to people who used the train to make the five minute crossing to Dundee, where the station was within five minutes walk of the city centre and of the docklands. The rail service via Wormit to Newport-on-Tay was withdrawn on and from 5 May 1969, by which time most commuters had switched to the July 1966 opened road bridge from Newport.
