Porta all'Arco (IV e III secolo a.C)
La Porta dell'Arco (o all'Arco) di Volterra, risalente circa al periodo fra IV e III secolo a.C., fa parte della cinta muraria in panchina della città, edificata originariamente dagli Etruschi e poi modificata successivamente nel Medioevo quando la città si erse a Libero comune. Si tratta del principale accesso alla città dal lato sud, opposta quindi all'altra porta etrusca di Volterra, Porta Diana, a nord. La porta ha risentito, rispetto a simili costruzioni in altre città, in maniera minore dei rimaneggiamenti romani dopo la sottomissione della città a Roma ed infatti essa presenta ancora oggi la grandiosa imponenza tipica delle porte cittadine etrusche. it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porta_all%27Arco

Porta all'Arco (4th - 3rd century BC)
The Porta dell'Arco (or all'Arco) of Volterra, dating from about the period between the fourth and third century BC, is part of the city walls, originally built by the Etruscans and then modified in the Middle Ages when the city was a free municipality.
It is the main access to the city from the south side, then opposite the other Etruscan gate of Volterra, Porta Diana, to the north.
The door has suffered in a lesser way, compared to similar buildings in other cities, the Roman alterations after the submission of the city to Rome and in fact it still presents the grandiose majesty typical of the Etruscan city gates.
