La chapelle Sainte-Émérance, classée MH en 1959, est de style gothique flamboyant de la fin du 15ème siècle. Elle est construite vers 1472, sous le règne de Louis XI. Le roi chassait dans la forêt voisine quand il fut pris de violents maux de ventre. On lui conseilla de prier sainte Emérance qui avait un petit oratoire à La Pouëze non loin de la forêt. La sainte était réputée pour guérir la peur et les coliques. Louis XI en reconnaissance de sa guérison, ordonna la construction d'une chapelle à l'emplacement de l'oratoire et y fit parvenir des reliques de la sainte ainsi qu'une statue en argent doré.

The Sainte-Émérance chapel is in flamboyant Gothic style from the end of the 15th century. It was built around 1472, during the reign of Louis XI. The king hunted in the nearby forest when he was caught in violent stomach pains. He was advised to pray to Sainte Emérance who had a small oratory at La Pouëze not far from the forest. The saint was known for curing fear and colic. In recognition of his recovery, Louis XI ordered the construction of a chapel on the site of the oratory and sent the saint’s relics and a gilded silver statue. It has been classified "Monument Historique" (French National heritage) in 1959.
