Abbaye Saint-Pierre de Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne (cl. MH 1862, 1934)
L'ancienne abbatiale, de style roman, a été érigée de l'est vers l'ouest en plusieurs campagnes, de la fin du 11ème siècle au début du 13ème siècle. Elle est célèbre pour son tympan sculpté sur la porte ouverte dans le mur sud de la nef: le triomphe de la Croix, figuré par un Christ aux bras écartés; derrière lui, une croix décalée, les instruments de la Passion.

The old abbey church, in Romanesque style, was erected from east to west in several times, from the end of the 11th century to the beginning of the 13th century. It is famous for its tympanum carved on the open door in the south wall of the nave: the triumph of the Cross, depicted by a Christ with his arms wide apart; behind him, an offset cross, the instruments of the Passion.
