Lochiel. Pink salt lakes once used for the salt industry and storm clouds.

Lochiel. Lake Bumbunga turns pink in the summer and salt can be harvested in the autumn. The indsutry began in the 1880s but it no longer operates.

Barunga Gap.Hummocks Station near Barunga Gap. Leasehold taken out in 1842. Subdivided for soldier settler farms in 1921. Rusty old horse drawn plough beside the creek.

Barunga Gap. Hummocks Station. Red iron stone, red bricks and red Geraniums outside the shearing shed and shearers' quarters. Built around 1865.

Hummocks Station beside the Hummock Ranges. This estate was taken up in 1842. Just beyond the paddocks is the Snowtown Barunga Gap wind farm for electricity generation.

Hummocks Station. Leasehold taken out in 1842. By the 1880s a 30,000 acre freehold station. Subdivided for soldier settler blocks in 1921. Magnificent gums and a lone cow with the Hummock Ranges in the background.

Mt Templeton. The former Wesleyan Methodist Church built in 1885 with strong stone buttresses on the rear wall.

Mount Templeton. A view of the former Mt Templeton pastorale estate. Looking towards the Clare Hills in spring. The estate was broken up into 30 farms in 1907.

Lochiel near Nantawarra South Australia. Lake Bumbunga which was used for salt gathering. Creeks from the Hummock Ranges flow into the lake which has no river to drain it hence the built up of algae and salt. .

Mount Templeton Peace Hall. It was built in 1921. The land was donated by Patrick Howard and the building cost £1,000.

Mount Templeton Wesleyan Methodist Church built in 1885. It closed in 1969 and is now a seldom used residence.

Barunga Gap.The shearers quarters on Hummocks Station built around 1860. Robert Barr Smith renamed Barunga station to Hummocks station when he bought it in 1869. Now used for tourist accommodation and weddings etc.

Bumbunga. The Gothic interior of the ruins of the Bumbunga Church of Christ. It was built in 1884 and closed in 1940. Although there is no front wall the side walls are in quite good condition.

Lochiel SA. Beautiful Art Deco stained glass window built in the Soldiers Memorial Kindergarten room added to the church in 1925.
