It was a brisk and windy morning, with the sun just peering out over the horizon when this large snake was observed sunning under a ledge on a Southeast facing rocky hillside. Upon interaction it rattled and struck on occasion, and was quick to return to its refuge when prompted. The ground was still cool when this snake was found, and it likely stayed in that position or nearby overnight waiting for the sun.
