בעצם ניתן לראות כאן טטרקיס כפול כי אם מסתכלים רק על המשולשים הלבנים העליון הוא האחד מתחתיו 2 מתחתיו 3 ואם מסתכלים על הכחולים התחתון 1 מעליו 2 מעליו 3. בשביל שהטטרקטיס יהיה מושלם חסרה שורה לבנה למטה וחסרה שורה כחולה למעלה, אבל כך או כך בגלל חשיבותו של הטטרקטיס כסמל פיתגוראי הגיוני להניח שהפיתגוראים הכירו את המגן דוד כגירסה קדושה של הסמל העיקרי שלהם

In fact, you can see a double tetraktys here because if you look only at the white triangles, the top one is the one below it 2, below it, 3, and if you look at the blue ones, the bottom one is the one above it 2, above it 3. For the tetraktys to be perfect, a white line is missing at the bottom and a blue line is missing at the top, but either way, because of the importance of the tetraktys as a Pythagorean symbol, it makes sense to assume that the Pythagorean knew the Star of David as a sacred version of their main symbol.
