Built in 1961, this commercial building at the corner of Patton Avenue and French Broad Avenue in Downtown Asheville was designed by Six Associates for the Public Service Company, and features a buff brick facade with a unique geometric concrete structure underneath the roof that makes heavy use of triangles, with an undulating triangular ceiling inside, a sawtooth facade along French Broad Avenue, large glass windows within the roof structure on the side facades, a large glass curtain wall in the front with an integrated planter at the base, and a relatively simple rear facade with smaller windows and a partial wrap of the windows from the facade along French Broad Avenue. The building is one of the most significant surviving examples of Mid Century Modern architecture in Asheville.
