This iconic building on the beach at the mouth of the River Rother has been snapped by every photographer and their mother who's have ever been to the coast at Rye! The Red Shed, as its more commonly known is thought to have been constructed in the 1890's and has been in the same family for several generations; its now owned by William Norton who paints it twice a year. Uncle's Shed was used by the shrimp fishermen to store their nets and other kit and now houses a little collection of objects from the days of the shrimp fishing industry; it can be viewed at certain times during the tourist season.
