After several days of rain, with cloudy and misty conditions, many dusky salamanders were found under small and large rocks in a small stream. Then after some time of flipping, this large salamander was found under a small chunky rock just big enough to conceal it on a bank of the stream with water just barely running through the sand and gravel. The salamander was lethargic upon discovery but quickly became active.
