A New Earth
Astronomers have discovered something! (and it's not a rock shaped like Elvis on Mars!!!) They discovered an Earth-like planet (named Gliese 581G?) that is 20 light years away.
What's 20 light years you may ask? Well its 189,210,568,000,000 kilometers (117,569,996,000,000 miles) away! So let's see... If my car get 35 miles per gallon, it would take X amount of gallons...BUT WAIT! Just in case you were thinking you could just pack up and go... well you can't. It's significantly larger than Earth so the gravitational pull is greater. What does that mean? In simple terms, if you think you are overweight now, you'll be something like 3 times your weight on Gliese 581G. In addition to that, the same side of this planet faces it's sun all the time resulting in no night (unless you go to the other side of the planet where its night all the time!!!).
Could there be life on Gliese 581G? Scientists aren't sure but they do say that all the circumstances of this planet (size and how far away from the sun it is) lead to a conclusion that it can support extraterrestrial life.

Hot Alien... Planet
Upsilon Andromedae is it's name and a weird hotspot is it's game and this rhyming sentence is lame....
Also know as a "hot-jupiter", Upsilon Andromedae b (a scorching gas giant) has a very weird hotspot on it's side and astronomers have no clue why. The warmest part of the planet is not the side that faces the sun, rather a spot way over on the side is actually a lot hotter. "We really didn't expect to find a hot spot with such a large offset," said Ian Crossfield (University of California, Los Angeles). "It's clear that we understand even less about the atmospheric energetics of hot Jupiters than we thought we did."
Yes, to me, it's clear that astronomers really don't know much at all as it's most speculations... and discovering planets like this is cool but the fact that its 44 light years away means that it's very hard to find anything else about Upsilon Andromedae b.
