There is a family of six geese I have been monitoring this year during my morning walks through Fisherman's Park II. This is one of the parents, with a marmot behind him.
Apparently marmot numbers have exploded in Reno. I see many of them in the UNR cow pastures alongside E McCarran Blvd when I ride my bike to work in the morning. Ingrid also saw a couple of them in our backyard a few weeks ago. This was the first time I'd seen one down by the river, though I know there are beavers here.
