Thanks for your lovely comments. This was pure serendipity. I threw a bunch of palm fronds into my barrel as I trimmed them from the base of a tall Washington palm. Then it was time to add a single rose from an indoor vase. I thought the resulting textures, patterns, and light and shadows were very satisfying. Fortunately my pocket iPhone camera was ready for the task. 😍
It has been in the 80 degree F temperature range in Tucson this week. This autumn, the roses are very happily blooming.🌹
