Most years I grow several kinds of tomatoes from seed. Mostly i grow small tomatoes that are F1 hybrids - 6 seeds per packet type arrangements. This year I only got round to sowing a packet of Ailsa Craig seeds that were 99 pence for 100 seeds! I grew 22 plants in my greenhouse bed and gave away about another 25 plants and also kept spares in pots in case any plants died after planting out in the greenhouse.
Yield, appearance and taste have been outstanding and we are still enjoying good numbers of them into late October and the quality hasn't deteriorated at all.
I think I might just do this every year!
