Juliet on long expired Tmax 100 4x5 film. I like the way this film has developed a patina from the edges inward, leaving the center mostly unaffected, but adding a lovely texture to the edges. This was shot with a very old lens, marked: Conley F8 Three Focus Rapid Rectilinear, 11x14 18-1/2" Focus No. 7108.
The lens is a triple convertible, with 31" and 43" configurations marked on the Wollensak Automatic shutter. There is no flash sync (obviously), and I've misplaced my air bulb shutter release for it, so I set the shutter to T, opened, fired my strobe using my Sekonic meter, and then closed the shutter. Crude but effective. Since this lens is marked in U.S. stops, and not the standard stops we use today, f/16 on this lens is equivalent to f/11, which is the aperture I used for this image. I processed the film in my R110 developer, which I've become quite fond of for portraits. Development was 5:30, 70F, Rotary agitation in Jobo 2500 series tank.
